JUICING

Juicing is the new black… and has been for a while. Who can even be mad at this health kick; most of us don't get the recommended amount of servings in any given day anyway. If you’re not a huge vegetable fan, it probably sounds extremely unappealing to take it down in liquid form. There are so many hidden cures that comes from mother earth, it’s actually quite fascinating. You got an ailment? Welp, there’s a juice recipe for you.
My #1 go-to is always a green juice, typically consisting of kale, spinach, celery, apple, and cucumber. I usually like to throw in some ginger and lime for a little extra zing. Deeeee-lish. So let’s raise our glass and cheers to becoming a mixologist of fruits and vegetables. Our waistlines will thank us later.
For fun facts, here are the benefits for each of these fruits & veggies from our favorite juice bar in town, Pitaya:
Kale: Contains compounds that may help prevent cancer and heart disease. Boosts immune system. Rich in vitamins A, C, B, K, and calcium and iron. 
Spinach: High in dietary fiber. Full of iron. Helps prevent lung and oral cancers. Good for strengthening the bones. Rich in vitamins A and C. 
Celery: Low in calories, helps with weight loss. Rich in vitamins and helps control heart rate and blood pressure. Good source of minerals. 
Apple: Contain minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium and fiber. Very good antioxidants and counter the bad influences of sodium. Help to fight off infections.
Cucumber: Very low in calories. Good source of potassium. Contain antioxidants, high in vitamin K and good for bone strength. 
Ginger: Great for nausea, headaches and pregnancy sickness. Effective against ecoli in children and it is full of minerals like potassium and magnesium. 
Lime: Great for cleaning out your system of toxins. Boosts the immune system and are high in dietary fiber, vitamin C calcium, iron and copper.
